Marriage Requirements in California Proper Documents for California Weddings
JUST A FEW REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CALIFORNIA CONFIDENTIAL MARRIAGE LICENSE:
All couples who can say that they live together can receive a California Confidential Marriage License through Los Angeles County. Your I.D. addresses don’t need to match, as long as you both attest that you actually satisfy the qualification. You do not need to live in either California, Los Angeles or the United States to qualify for the confidential marriage license.
IDENTIFICATION NEEDED FOR A MARRIAGE LICENSE:
Los Angeles county requires that for each marriage license you present to us one piece of current (not expired) government-issued photo I.D. such as a passport, a driver’s license, a state I.D. card, and a green card. If you are divorced or had your marriage annulled within the last two years, we need a copy of your divorce or annulment decree.
WEDDING LOCATION ANYWHERE IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA:
In order for us to issue a Los Angeles County Confidential Marriage License it used to be that the wedding ceremony must be a Los Angeles wedding – – it must take place within the legal limits of L.A. county. BUT NOW, a new law was passed allowing us to issue your marriage license anywhere in California. Of course, we prefer to stay in Southern California. So, if you are having an Orange County wedding, or a Ventura County wedding or a Santa Barbara County wedding or even a Riverside County wedding, we can be there to issue your marriage license as well as officiate your wedding ceremony.
Chris Robinson is a California wedding officiate. He has been officiating wedding ceremonies and providing California marriage licenses for over several decades. Officiant Guy could certainly be your officiant for any type of wedding from a religious wedding ceremony to an atheist wedding ceremony together with any kind of additions from unity sand ceremonies to unity candle ceremonies.
