Located above the sunny Pacific Coast, the Getty Villa is a spectacular Pacific Palisades wedding venue for any and every couple. Although thousands of miles away from Europe, the Getty Villa is reminiscent of an aristocratic European estate. Constructed in the 1950s by oil tycoon J. Paul Getty, the Getty Villa’s facade was modeled after the Greco-Roman architecture of the ancient world. On the inside is a museum dedicated to the civilizations of ancient Greece and Rome, featuring priceless artifacts and sculptures. Along with its sister museum (the Getty Center, located approximately five miles away), the Getty Villa holds innumerable cultural relics and works of art.
Within the Getty Villa’s Courtyard long courtyard stretches a decorative pool and a surrounding garden. Pathways around the pool’s perimeter permit relaxing strolls, during which you and your guests can admire the opulent architecture, the finely maintained garden, and ancient busts and statues.
Looking out from this unique Pacific Palisades wedding venue, you will be greeted by panoramic views of the rugged Santa Monica Mountains contrasting the golden beaches below. The Getty Villa is just outside of Santa Monica, connecting it to the interests of the city. Given its prime location, the Getty Villa has the best of both worlds: beaches and mountains, city and wilderness, modern and ancient. With its beautiful architecture and fascinating collection, the Getty Villa is bound to be an exciting venue for your wedding day.
